It might not seem like a lot, but for me it is a big milestone for this, my little corner of the web. What is more cool for me personally, is that while this blog has been going for over two years now, over half of the 20,000 (11,736… yes I worked it out) views have come in the last 9 months. My blog is now regularly achieving well over a 1000 views a months, a feat I only dreamed of when I started it.  And all this in the least productive time for my little blog. So I just wanted to thanks anyone who is among that number of 20,00, and a very special thank you, to anyone that has visited my blog more than once… I don’t know why did, but I am glad you did.
Any way hopefully I will back on here soon; also don’t be afraid to leave comments, it helps me to know that some of these views have actually read what I have put!

Metal gear solid 25th anniversary news…

Well it has been one hell of a busy day in the world of Metal Gear. Enviously I looked on towards Japan, this morning news came from Tokyo at the big 25th anniversary evet, which before had promised to have “Industry shattering” announcements. Well the event did not disappoint with 3 big, big announcement made!

Lets start small,

Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops

Social Ops looks to involve characters and possibly story arc’s, from many different era’s of the metal gear saga (credit: Konami)

Social Ops is a new smart phone game, it will be fully 3D and allow player to relive past battles and stories from the series. I may be reading the news completely wrong here, but the game looks to use a card system to help with the battles, perhaps similar to the Metal Gear Acid series; or it could just be used for setting up the battles themselves. Given the name of the game, I would not be surprised to see online connectivity (such as trading and battles) being the main features for the title. Now everything so far talked about the game, looks pretty cool. But, after the huge disappointment of the last metal gear mobile game “Metal Gear Solid touch” I am a little wary about the game. But as I can only look at the little information that is currently available, I am hopeful that this could be a great little game for the series.

Metal Gear Solid the Movie

Yes, I know this was announced years ago. That project went nowhere and but now at the 25th event anniversary the project has been restarted. This time with long time marvel comic film adapter  Avi Arad set to produce the film. To say that I’m a little worried about this would be an understatement, Hollywood long history of video game adaptations hasn’t be great to say the least. Metal Gear’s cinematic nature means that it will lead itself to a film adaptation much more than say… pacman but that only doesn’t mean anything where Hollywood is concerned. Now there is always the chance that the series could get the movie it deserved, I won’t however be holding my breath. That is if the project even gets off the ground first.

And now the biggest announcement….

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros

Solid and liquid?

Even without having the number, many people will be classing this title as the big ‘5’. Nearly nothing is known of the title; a video was shown at the event, though has yet to be leaked to the public. What little we do know is, that the title will be using the newly developed fox engine, it will be out on PC, PS3 and xbox360 (perhaps the next generation consoles too?)  and the title will be open world. There is no date set ye…… wait back up a moment. Open world? Yep, it looks like this new title will be Metal Gear’s first open world title. It is an interesting turn of direction for the series – but is no more drastic than next year’s hack n’ slash game Metal Gear Rising. It will be interested to see how it will work but as it seems that stealth will still play a large part of the game, I’m going to allow my excitement build to levels last seen before MGS4.

So it looks like after 25 years of Metal Gear the franchise is still alive and kicking, and in fact is looking stronger than ever.

Moving on….

I’m not giving up on this blog, not just yet anyway… I’m just struggling to find both the time and motive to keep updating. For the last few weeks I have been starting blogs, on absolute random topics, which to be honest I probably don’t have much right to talk about. At least not without doing a lot more research, and I end up deleting the blog without them ever seeing the light of day. As I as said before, I won’t abandon the blog completely; I plan to update it. Whenever, I have a topic that interests me, that I want share, so basically whenever I feel like it. I know there is very few or none at all that check  on here regularly, but if you do exist somewhere out there (mum?) I apologise. Hopefully there will be some quality content coming on here every now and then….

Well I guess it’s another song of the month……

I hesitate to call this a “Song of the month” not because it isn’t one, it clearly is but because it seems to be all I post nowadays. I’ve pretty much done next to no writing for an age, and of course that means this blog has suffered. In the last few weeks, I have gotten a new Job, so along with the lack of writing my free time has gone down the pan. But I don’t want to let this blog completley die, I do plan on writing again, I just don’t know when that will be.

Anyway I can’t seem to get this song out of my head…….

The Slow down in content!

I do apologize for the lack of updates on my blog of late. I can’t give a particular reason for the slow down of my posting frequency. Perhaps my dog’s death has had an affect but I can’t be sure. Whatever it is, it has affect all my writing. All my different writing projects have slowed to a crawl, and that is not good. It is strange that while I have been posting less than ever, my blog is getting a record number of view (I know the views is still relatively small) with last month being the first month with over a 1000 views in it! Maybe people are trying to tell me something?

I can’t promise with this new entry that it will be the start of a new content influx, I wish I could but first and foremost I need to work on my main writing. Hopefully I will get back into the jig of things with that soon and the blog will soon follow. But for now please bear with me!

Cya on the other side! (not sure where that came from)

Intelligent design is stupid and the course of mine

A great video on intelligent design.

Ohh and remember that writing course i was on about the other month? Yeah it’s not for me….. i did have some doubts, in being in a small community center being one of my main concerns, turns out there was many reason for me not return to this course. First off it two buses journeys to get there. That would not be  major worry, if it was something i felt would have improved my writing. Again a minor problem was that once i got there i released i was 50 years or more younger than the average, making me feel slightly awkward, especially when i had to defend the sci-fi genre to a selection of people that have never read any. Some more serious problems was it 20 lessons in a 30 lesson course.  The first 4 lessons of this term was in poetry, something i’m not bothered about, while the next 5 were “To be determined” . Now in the one lesson i went in to, well it felt like a year 10 English lesson.

No offense to the teacher or to any of pupils they were all very nice to me, it simply was not for me.

A quick post (it seems my regular saying now a days)

Got on a writing course. Which has kindly been paid for by the company i work for and it’s during the hours of my work. Looking forward learning a bit more skill in my favorite field. But it’s at a small community center so a little iffy on what i will learn, however i’m more than willing to give it ago.

Got nothing to lose: have i?

Also got the new Foo Fighters album, wasting light. Nearly everything they do is pretty awesome, this is no exception.
Felling very MEH and stressed, at the moment. Got a few night’s out planed which will make a change, and it will be nice to get drunk, very very drunk.
